NOTES FROM A COMA by Mike McCormack
Mike McCormack spoke about his book, Notes From a Coma, at Politics & Prose on Sunday, March 17, 2013.
Heralded from his earliest fiction, the short story collection Getting it in the Head, as a darkly original writer, McCormack richly realizes his promise in his third book. Examining questions of identity through the prisms of social justice and cutting-edge technology, the novel follows JJ, a Romanian orphan raised by adoptive parents in Ireland, who volunteers for an experimental program using induced coma as an alternative for incarceration.
