Kid Gloves -- Lucy Knisley

Whether you have children, want children, or can’t stand children, this graphic memoir is fun for all readers. For Lucy, getting pregnant was the easy part; staying pregnant, however, was far more difficult. After several miscarriages, she finally has the chance to experience the joys of growing a human but the journey isn’t without its hiccups. Knisley’s illustration style is friendly and comforting and her dialogue humorous and entertaining. Facts about pregnancy and babies woven into her story create surprisingly informative asides and a well-rounded volume for those looking for a quick read. As an expectant mother, I couldn’t recommend this book more.
