Jenny Scheinman & Allison Miller, PARLOUR GAME (Royal Potato Family, $11.98) – Violinist Jenny Scheinmann has been a long-time collaborator with drummer Allison Miller, appearing in her group, Boom Tic Boom. Now comes the release of the pair’s side-project, Parlour Game, a quartet with pianist Carmen Staaf and bassist Tony Scherr. The tunes are swinging and full of melodies.

Earlier this year, Allison Miller’s Boom Tic Boom released a fine album, Glitter Wolf, featuring Ms. Scheinman, along with pianist Myra Melford, clarinetist Ben Goldberg, trumpeter Kirk Knuffke, and bassist Todd Sickafoose.

Ani DiFranco, NO WALLS MIXTAPE (Righteous Babe, $15.98) – This spring, Ani DiFranco released her memoir, No Walls and the Recurring Dream (Viking).

The No Walls Mixtape features “16 new stripped-down recordings of Ani classics” with appearances by Amy Ray, Maceo Parker and Billy Bragg.

Jon Batiste, ANATOMY OF ANGELS: Live at the Village Vanguard (Concord, $14.98) – Pianist Jon Batiste lead his trio (and expanded octet), Stay Human, at the Village Vanguard in the fall of 2018. Anatomy of Angels includes three trio tunes (two originals plus a duet with Rachel Price of Lake Street Dive on “The Very Thought of You”). It also includes the larger octet (including 2 saxes and 2 trumpets plus percussion) on Monk’s “Round Midnight” and Batiste’s “Anatomy of Angels.”

HANDEL: CONCERTI GROSSI OP 6 (1 – 6) (Pentatone SACD, $19.99) – Akademie für Alte Musik Berlin begins a trilogy of albums featuring Handel’s concerti grossi. Written in London in 1739, the concerti were designed “as attractive interludes to English oratorio performances,” then became Baroque orchestral favorites.

The Akademie will continue this project with the last six Concerti Grossi, op.6, as well as the Concerti Grossi, op. 3.
