Chet Baker Trio, LIVE IN PARIS: THE RADIO FRANCE RECORDINGS 1983 – 1984 (Anagram, 2 CDs, $30.98) – Chet Baker’s drummerless trios in two previously unissued live performances recorded by Radio France. The performances feature Baker on trumpet and vocals, pianist Michel Graillier, and bassists Dominique Lemerle (July 17, 1983) and Riccardo Del Fra (February 7, 1984).
As usual with Resonance/Anagram releases, there are revelatory booklet notes: essays by journalist and author Ashley Kahn, journalist Franck Bergerot, Pascal Rozat of INA France, and interviews with Baker sidemen Riccardo Del Fra, Dominique Lemerle, and Richie Beirach.
