Where to park:

The P&P parking lot is located at the rear of the store. If you are driving north on Connecticut, turn right at Fessenden Street, then make an immediate left on 36th Street. The entrance is on the left, just before the street enters the woods. If you are driving south on Connecticut, cross Nebraska Avenue, and pass the store on your left. Make a left turn on Fessenden, then make an immediate left on 36th Street. The entrance is on the left.

There is a van-accessible parking spot in the corner of the lot, across from the entrance to our cafe.

The D.C. Police Department has informed us that parking on 36th Street past Garrison (where the road descends into the woods towards Rock Creek Park) is legal on both sides of the road until the road narrows.

The parking lot fills up quickly for our evening author talks.

You may also park in the nearby neighborhoods for two hours where posted. However, our neighbors ask that you do not block or park in their driveways.

Accessibility

Our Union Market store is accessible from the street.

P&P on Connecticut Ave. NW is wheelchair accessible. There is a van-accessible parking spot in our lot across from the entrance to The Den Coffeehouse.

The store is situated on two floors. While stairs provide quick passage between the floors, we also have an elevator, located in the Children and Teens Department (near the puzzles and toys) on the lower level and in the Fiction Room on the main level.

There is a staircase to enter the Sale Books room on the main level. To access this room without stairs, notify a P&P bookseller for guidance to an alternate entrance.

P&P will try to provide a sign language interpreter for events, but the request must be made no later than ten days before the event. If we’re unable to secure an interpreter, we will attempt to record the event and prepare a written transcript of it upon request. Please send inquiries to events@politics-prose.com.
