Xi Jinping - The Governance of China

In anticipation of Chinese President Xi Jinping’s visit to the United States this month, Politics and Prose is hosting a special event at the store on September 17 featuring several Chinese authorities. Joining Cui Tiankai, China’s ambassador to the United States, and Di Dongsheng, a professor at China’s Renmin University (currently visiting at Georgetown University), will be a senior Chinese government official not yet identified. Also participating will be Ross Terrill, an Australian academic and journalist who has written a number of books about China. The starting point for discussion will be The Governance of China, a recently-published collection of President Xi’s major writings and speeches from November 2012, when he assumed office as chairman of the Central Military Commission, through June 2014.
