Stephanie Feldman, Nathaniel Popkin, Malka Older, and Diane McKinney-Whetstone - Who Will Speak for America?

Upcoming Event
Monday, July 2, 2018 - 7:00pm to 8:00pm

With a title recalling Barbara Jordan’s question in the wake of the nation’s post-Watergate crisis, this anthology, a product of the January 2017 Writers Resist events, features the poems, stories, essays, and cartoons of forty writers grappling with the meaning of America in the Trump era. Looking back to the founders’ goals as well as assessing the present and offering diverse visions of the future, these works advance the urgent conversation about what the country can and should be. The volume’s co-editor, Nathaniel Popkin, fiction review editor at Cleaver Magazine and author of the novel Everything is Borrowed, will be joined by contributors Malka Older, humanitarian worker and author of Infomocracy and Null States; Jericho Brown, award-winning poet and the author most recently of The New Testament; and Diane McKinney-Whetstone, award-winning author of six novels including Lazaretto.
