Sherman Alexie - Thunder Boy Jr. — at MLK Library

Thursday, May 19, 2016 - 6:30pm to 7:30pm

Thunder Boy Smith Jr., or Little Thunder, is his father’s namesake. Big Thunder is a gentle giant and the best dad a boy could ask for… but why can’t Little Thunder have a name of his own? The younger Thunder oh-so-subtly throws out suggestions of names that better reflect his own personality: Drums, Drums, and More Drums, perhaps? Or maybe Mud in His Ears? It turns out, however, that Dad has a suggestion of his own—one that perfectly captures their relationship as well as Little Thunder’s own identity. Ages 5 – 9

This event is free and open to the public. Customers are required to purchase a copy of Thunder Boy Jr. to have books signed by the author. Books are available to purchase from Politics and Prose Connecticut Ave., online, and at MLK Library from 5:30 p.m. on May 19.

You will receive a ticket to join the signing line with your purchase. (The author will sign other books as well). Please remember to bring this along with your copy of Thunder Boy Jr. on the evening of the event.
