Scott Crawford - Spoke: Images and Stories from the 1980s Washington, DC Punk Scene

Upcoming Event
Saturday, February 4, 2017 - 6:00pm to 7:00pm

A longtime presence on the D.C. punk scene, Crawford started the fanzine Metrozine when he was a teenager, and in 2001 founded Harp, serving as the magazine’s editor for seven years. His seminal film, Salad Days, followed bands including Bad Brains, Minor Threat, Scream, Void, and Fugazi through the glory years of the ‘80s. His new book builds on these earlier projects, combining oral history and photos to further document and celebrate D.C.’s vibrant punk culture.

Crawford will be in conversation with Jim Saah, a photographer specializing in the D.C. music scene for more than twenty-five years. Neal Augenstein, WTOP reporter and tech editor, will moderate the discussion.
