Randon Billings Noble - Be with Me Always: Essays

Upcoming Event
Saturday, March 9, 2019 - 6:00pm to 7:00pm

Taking the title for her first collection of essays from Heathcliff’s passionate plea to his beloved’s spirit in Wuthering Heights, Noble announces that the mission of her book is to explore the things, people, and places that haunt her. Her intention is not to exorcise these ghosts but to understand and embrace them. Among the varied specters Noble teases out here are Anne Boleyn, a past lover, a book she’s somehow compelled to read, the gaze of a nude model, and irrepressible thoughts about widowhood. A widely published essayist whose work was listed as Notable in The Best American Essays 2016, Noble is also founding editor of After the Art and a writing teacher for several area universities as well as P&P and the Writer’s Center.
