P&P Live!: Richard Haass - The World: A Brief Introduction

Upcoming Event
Tuesday, May 19, 2020 - 6:00pm

This event will be streamed online as part of our P&P Live! Series.

Writing for a general audience, Haass draws on his extensive experience as a diplomat and policymaker to lay out what every American adult should know about international relations. From the basic facts and history of each region to the moral argument for promoting democracy abroad, the ramifications of climate change, and the pros and cons of tariffs, Haass, president of the non-partisan Council on Foreign Relations, author of books including A World in Disarray, and a frequent media commentator, lays out the essentials for global literacy that will enable readers to navigate the daily headlines and arrive at sound, independent judgments, including knowing when to hold elected representatives to account.

Instead of a set ticket price, we ask that you contribute what you can to support Politics and Prose Bookstore and our virtual event series. We know that everyone has been affected in these trying times, and we will continue to make our programming accessible to all. That said, a suggested contribution of $5, $10, whatever you can afford, will go a long way to keep our programming—and our bookstore—afloat as we are forced to adapt to new ways of business.

The other way you can support us is always by purchasing a copy of the book from our website, which you can reach from the green button in the event.

We are so grateful to be surrounded by such a loyal and engaged community and we thank you for your support, now and always.
