P&P Live!: Jordan Blashek and Christopher Haugh – Union: A Democrat, a Republican, and a Search for Common Ground – in conversation with Sarah Hurwitz

Upcoming Event
Tuesday, July 21, 2020 - 6:00pm

This event will be streamed online as part of our P&P Live! Series.

A Democrat and a Republican travel across America on a deeply personal journey through the heart of a divided nation to find growth, hope, and fundamental strength in their own lives and the country they love, in good times and bad.

Union is a road narrative, a civics lesson, and an unforgettable window into one epic friendship. We ride along with Jordan and Chris for the whole journey, listening in on front-seat arguments and their conversations with Americans from coast to coast. We also peer outside the car to understand America's hot-button topics, including immigration, mass incarceration, and the military-civilian divide. By the time Jordan and Chris kill the engine for the last time, they answer one of the most pressing questions of our time: How far apart are we really?

The authors will be in conversation with Sarah Hurwitz, former senior speechwriter for President Barack Obama and head speechwriter for First Lady Michelle Obama.

Instead of a set ticket price, we ask that you contribute what you can to support Politics and Prose Bookstore and our virtual event series. We know that everyone has been affected in these trying times, and we will continue to make our programming accessible to all. That said, a suggested contribution of $5, $10, whatever you can afford, will go a long way to keep our programming—and our bookstore—afloat as we are forced to adapt to new ways of business.

The other way you can support us is always by purchasing a book from our website.

We are so grateful to be surrounded by such a loyal and engaged community and we thank you for your support, now and always.
