Andrea Davis Pinkney is best known for her biographies about extraordinary African-Americans. She has written more than 20 books for children, including the Caldecott Honor Book and Coretta Scott King Honor Book Duke Ellington and Let it Shine: Stories of Black Women Freedom Fighters, a Coretta Scott King Honor Book and winner of the Carter G. Woodson Award.
Deborah Wiles is the author of several highly acclaimed books, including Love, Ruby Lavender and two National Book Award finalists–Each Little Bird That Sings and Revolution. Her first picture book, Freedom Summer, received the Ezra Jack Keats New Writer Award. She lives in Atlanta, Georgia.
