P&P Live! Cynthia Kadohata-Saucy—in conversation with Caitlyn Dlouhy

Upcoming Event
Wednesday, October 21, 2020 - 2:00pm

Being one of a quadruplet isn’t easy for Becca. Her three brothers all have their own “thing” that make them unique leaving Becca struggling to find where she fits in. During their nightly family walks Becca comes upon a sickly orphaned piglet and realizes that taking care of it is her chance to do something different from her brothers. Saucy, the piglet, quickly grows out of hand and everyone wonders where this little mischief maker came from. Finding the answer may just be something that will finally unite the siblings.

Cynthia Kadohata will be in conversation with her editor, Caitlyn Dlouhy to discuss the inspiration for Saucy, ethical living, and living with rescue animals.

Since publishing her first novel, The Floating World, in 1989, Cynthia Kadohata has been viewed as one of the most compelling novelists in the United States. Her first middle grade novel, Kira-Kira won the Newbery Award in 2005 and her novel The Thing About Luck won the Asian/Pacific American Award for Literature in 2013. Cynthia has traveled extensively and currently lives in California with her dog and hockey-playing son.

Caitlyn Dlouhy is the Vice President and Editorial Director of Caitlyn Dlouhy Books. She is drawn most toward publishing voices unusual and unexpected, from middle grade and teen fiction to picture books, as well as graphic novels, nonfiction, and poetry. Her books have received numerous prestigious literary awards.
