This event will be streamed online as part of our P&P Live! Series.
One of the most dynamic groups of the '70s and '80s, Talking Heads, founded by drummer Chris Frantz, his girlfriend Tina Weymouth, and lead singer David Byrne, burst onto the music scene, playing at CBGBs, touring Europe with the Ramones, and creating hits like "Psycho Killer" and "Burning Down the House" that captured the post-baby boom generation's intense, affectless style.
In Remain in Love, Frantz writes about the beginnings of Talking Heads. With never-before-seen photos and immersive vivid detail, Frantz describes life on tour, down to the meals eaten and the clothes worn--and reveals the mechanics of a long and complicated working relationship with a mercurial frontman.
Franz will be in conversation with Bob Boilen, creator and host of NPR's All Songs Considered and Tiny Desk Concerts.

Instead of a set ticket price, we ask that you contribute what you can to support Politics and Prose Bookstore and our virtual event series. We know that everyone has been affected in these trying times, and we will continue to make our programming accessible to all. That said, a suggested contribution of $5, $10, whatever you can afford, will go a long way to keep our programming—and our bookstore—afloat as we are forced to adapt to new ways of business.
The other way you can support us is always by purchasing a book from our website.
We are so grateful to be surrounded by such a loyal and engaged community and we thank you for your support, now and always.
