P&P Live! Ann McCallum Staats-Thrill Seekers: 15 Remarkable Women in Extreme Sports

Upcoming Event
Thursday, March 18, 2021 - 6:00pm

Calling all brave and bold adventurers! Thrill Seekers introduces 15 unconventional female athletes who compete in extreme sports including cave diving, wingsuit flying, and Formula 1 racing. Each profile explores pivotal moments in the athlete’s career, examining the risks and rewards of pushing past fear to achieve greatness. The profiles also include a brief history of each sport. These modern role models perform unthinkable feats but are not superhuman. Many come from humble beginnings. Their passion for adventure and drive to succeed against all odds will inspire a new generation of young women to boldly pursue the unthinkable.

The event will include a panel discussion featuring athletes profiled in the book including Angela Hawse, Jill Heinerth, Melanie Curtis, Ann Marie Stephens, Sara Mudallal, Elladee Brown, Sneha Sharma, and Brittany Leavitt.

Ann McCallum Staats holds a BA in Education from the University of Victoria, BC, and an MA in Education from the University of Maryland.
