P&P Live! and DC Public Library Present Cheryl & Wade Hudson-The Talk

Upcoming Event
Saturday, November 14, 2020 - 4:00pm

A thoughtful and necessary anthology for our times, The Talk: Conversations about Race, Love & Truth is not a single story but a powerful collection of letters, memories, and life lessons from a diverse company of authors and illustrators gathered by editors Wade Hudson and Cheryl Willis Hudson. The grayscale illustrations reflect the tone of the book—dark and light with a spectrum of hope shining through the pain. A must-read for all families.

Cheryl Willis Hudson and Wade Hudson are authors and co-founders of Just Us Books, Inc, an independent company that focuses on Black interest books for young people. They have published over thirty books, including We Rise, We Resist, We Raise Our Voice and The Talk: Conversations about Race, Love & Truth.

We are excited to announce that the first 50 attendees/families to join the event with The Hudson’s will receive a complimentary copy of The Talk for their home library (one per family). Recipients of the complimentary copy will pick their book up at one of our Politics and Prose locations.

All registrants will receive a link to download Wade Hudson’s personal story, The Bike. Our hope is that everyone will have a chance to read at least one story from The Talk before tuning into the event.

A family event in partnership with the DC Public Library.
