Phyllis L. Fagell - Middle School Matters: The 10 Key Skills Kids Need to Thrive in Middle School and Beyond--And How Parents Can Help — in conversation with Amy Joyce

Upcoming Event
Sunday, September 15, 2019 - 3:00pm to 4:00pm

In her illuminating new book, Fagell, school counselor for Sheridan School, argues that children’s middle school years aren’t just a lull between childhood and adolescence, but a crucial developmental phase in their own right. Drawing on the work of psychologists, doctors, educators and her experience as both a licensed clinical professional counselor and a certified professional school counselor, Fagell shows that this period of rapid physical, intellectual, and social change offers parents the opportunity to teach their kids important skills such as how to make friends, how to be their own advocate, how to negotiate conflict, and more. Fagell will be in conversation with Amy Joyce, who writes “On Parenting” for The Washington Post.
