Nelson DeMille - The Cuban Affair — in conversation with Alan Gross

Upcoming Event
Sunday, September 24, 2017 - 5:00pm to 6:00pm

A former U.S. Army Infantry Officer, Daniel “Mac” MacCormick returned from two tours in Afghanistan with the Silver Star and a pair of Purple Hearts. At age thirty-five, he’s settled in Key West and bought a charter fishing boat. He took out a huge loan, so when a Miami lawyer offers Mac $2 million for a ten-day trip to Cuba, Mac is interested, but senses there’s more to it. There is—$60 million more, if the lawyer and his clients can retrieve the money left by a man who fled Castro’s revolution. Named the 2015 Thriller Master of the Year, DeMille is the author of over a dozen novels, including The Gold Coast and The General’s Daughter, basis for the John Travolta film.

DeMille will be in conversation with Alan Gross, who was arrested in Cuba in 2009, charged with subversion in 2011, and released on humanitarian grounds in December 2014.
