Politics and Prose is happy to partner with DC Public Library and DC Public Library Foundation for a Beyond the Book Family Event with author Meena Harris featuring her new picture book, A is for Ambitious.
50 copies of A Is For Ambitious will be available for families to add to their home library courtesy of the DC Public Library Foundation. Copies will be available first come, first serve at the event only, books will not be available for pick up before or after the event on Mar. 15. Additional on site book sales will be provided by Politics & Prose.
It’s time for the “bossy” girls to shine! From the team behind Ambitious Girl, the author’s new book, A is for Ambitious reunites readers with AG as she celebrates all the ways she is special, going from A to Z to reclaim words often used to undermine girls and women. With lively illustrations, readers are likely to see themselves in the pages.
Meena Harris was born into a family of ambitious women whose legacy continues to inspire her. Meena herself is a lawyer and entrepreneur, as well as the #1 New York Times bestselling author of Ambitious Girl. In 2017 she founded Phenomenal, a female-powered organization that brings awareness to social causes. She currently resides in San Francisco with her partner and two daughters.
Beyond the Book is a library literacy project that supports developing readers in grades K- 3rd grade to become successful and joyful readers.
