The untold story of one of the century's most respected journalists, told in sweeping "you are there" style and covering most of the significant events of the century.

Mary Llewellyn McNeil, a student of Wallace Carroll's, is a former editor and writer for Congressional Quarterly and the primary author of Environment and Health, Reagan's First Year, and The Nuclear Age. She has worked as an editor at the Smithsonian Institution and the National Academy of Sciences, and as a journalist at the Winston-Salem Journal. During a twenty-eight-year career at the World Bank, she launched two global publications, The Urban Age and Development Outreach, and wrote Demanding Good Governance: Lessons from Social Accountability Initiatives in Africa. A graduate of Wake Forest University and the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University, she resides in Washington DC with her husband and three daughters. This is her first full-length biography.

Albert Hunt writes a weekly column for The Hill and co-hosts the 2022 Politics War Room podcast with James Carville.  Previously, he was a Bloomberg Opinion and International New York Times columnist covering politics and policy and the executive Washington editor of Bloomberg News. Before joining Bloomberg, Hunt spent four decades at the Wall Street Journal, as a reporter, bureau chief and executive Washington editor and wrote the weekly column “Politics and People.” Hunt also hosted the weekend talk show Al Hunt on Bloomberg Television and was a weekly panelist on CNN’s Capital Gang. He is the author of several books on U.S. elections published by the American Enterprise Institute and the Brookings Institution, was chairman of the Profiles in Courage Committee at the John F. Kennedy Library, and is a member of the Board of Trustees at Wake Forest University.  Hunt currently teaches a course on the Press and Politics at the University of Pennsylvania.  He and his wife, Judy Woodruff, anchor of the PBS Newshour, live in Washington, D.C.
