Inspired by his grandfather, a chef at the family’s Barcelona restaurant, Vidal enrolled in the Escola de Restauració i Hostelatge de Barcelona at age sixteen. In 2010 he joined Boqueria as executive chef. Named after Barcelona’s picturesque San Josep Market—known worldwide as La Boqueria—these New York and Washington restaurants are deeply rooted in Barcelona’s culinary culture.
