Joanne Lipman - That's What She Said: What Men Need to Know (and Women Need to Tell Them) about Working Together — in conversation with Susan Page

Upcoming Event
Tuesday, February 20, 2018 - 7:00pm to 8:00pm

Lipman’s groundbreaking handbook for achieving gender parity in the workplace grew out of her 2014 Wall Street Journal article, “Women at Work: A Guide for Men,” which argued that for men and women to work as equals, men must change. Lipman, former chief content officer of Gannett, the company that owns USA Today, draws on studies showing that companies perform better when they have more women in senior leadership positions. From fostering creativity to tempering risky behavior, women can benefit organizations in any number of ways. While many men are making good faith efforts to revise conventional assumptions, bias and misogyny still haunt the majority of businesses. Drawing on statistics, new research in psychology, and her own experiences, Lipman has formulated guidelines designed to ease the missteps, misunderstandings, and frustrations that continue to hamper real progress.

Lipman will be in conversation with Susan Page, Washington Bureau Chief for USA Today.
