James Mustich - 1,000 Books to Read Before You Die: A Life-Changing List — in conversation with Michael Dirda

Upcoming Event
Sunday, October 21, 2018 - 3:00pm to 4:00pm

A veteran of the book business, Mustich co-founded A Common Reader and spent two decades passionately advocating books that might otherwise have been overlooked. Now Vice President for Digital Product at Barnes & Noble, Mustich devoted an equally ardent ten years to compiling the essential titles that make up this bibliophile’s dream catalog. Arranged in alphabetical order by author from Edward Abbey’s Desert Solitaire to Carl Zuckmayer’s A Part of Myself, the collection spans all time periods and all genres. Each entry includes a brief and eloquent essay on the book and offers suggestions for further reading, as well as recommendations for audio versions and film adaptations. Mustich will be in conversation with Michael Dirda, Washington Post book critic.
