Jaime Harrison and Amos Snead - Climbing the Hill: How to Build a Career in Politics and Make a Difference — at Politics and Prose at Union Market

Upcoming Event
Tuesday, September 25, 2018 - 7:00pm to 8:00pm

In this primer for building a political career, two of today’s most successful young politicians draw on their experience to provide advice for participating in local and national politics. Perhaps their résumés say it all. Harrison, one of Roll Call’s “Fabulous Fifty Movers and Shakers Behind the Scenes on Capitol Hill,” became the first African American chair of the South Carolina Democratic Party and currently serves as Associate Chair and Counselor of the Democratic National Committee. Snead got his start as a press aide for the House Energy and Commerce Committee, served as communications director for Congressman Louie Gohmert and as spokesman for House Republican whip Roy Blunt, and is a founding partner of S-3 Public Affairs and cofounder of FamousDC.com. Together they offer an invaluable and non-partisan primer to a life of government service.
