Irvine Welsh - Dead Men's Trousers

Upcoming Event
Saturday, March 2, 2019 - 6:00pm to 7:00pm

Welsh burst on the literary scene in 1993 with Trainspotting, which featured rich, raw Scots dialect, heroin addiction, and a biting black humor. Now, following ten more novels, four short-story collections, and several screenplays, Welsh reunites the characters of his classic novel for one more outrageous—and heartbreaking—scheme. In an unplanned reunion, Mark Renton, who’s made the bigtime managing DJ’s but is burning out, joins Begbie, now sober and a successful artist, back in their hometown. With Sick Boy, still a pimp, and Spud, “self-employed” as a street beggar, they get involved in organ harvesting, but as the project becomes more and more of a fiasco, the men’s old demons take over, and this time, not all of them will survive the experience.
