Gregory Pardlo - Digest

Wednesday, September 9, 2015 - 7:00pm to 8:00pm

Winner of the 2015 Pulitzer Prize for poetry, the highly accomplished Pardlo is also the associate editor of the journal Callaloo, a Columbia writing teacher, and translator of the Dutch poet Niels Lyngso. His individual poems have been selected for two volumes of the Best American Poetry, while his first collection, Totem, won the APR/Honickman Prize and his second, Digest, the Pulitzer. Cited for being “clear-voiced” in its presentation of “news from 21st-century America,” Pardlo’s latest work articulates a range of public and private experience, from the uses culture makes of its icons to the fears and frustrations of parenthood to the powers of academic discourse that often mystifies as much as it illuminates.
