Finn Murphy - The Long Haul: A Trucker's Tales of Life on the Road

Upcoming Event
Monday, June 12, 2017 - 7:00pm to 8:00pm

Murphy started working as a long-haul trucker in 1980 and since then he has covered hundreds of thousands of miles. A mover, Murphy packs, loads, and hauls people’s possessions, and his first book is an engaging and humorous look at life on the road, the appeal of manual labor, and stories of colorful characters and their stuff. Some forty million Americans move every year, and Murphy has helped many of them, including a hoarder and the widow of an archeologist whose remains and relics he drove to New Mexico for a Navajo burial ceremony. His is a rare tour of the country. Murphy will be in conversation with Scott Stossel, editor of The Atlantic.
