Farah Pandith - How We Win: How Cutting-Edge Entrepreneurs, Political Visionaries, Enlightened Business Leaders, and Social Media Mavens Can Defeat the Extremist Threat — in conversation with Anne-Marie Slaughter— at Politics and Prose at Union Market

Upcoming Event
Wednesday, March 20, 2019 - 7:00pm to 8:00pm

A senior fellow at Harvard’s John F. Kennedy School of Government and an adjunct senior fellow at the Council on Foreign Relations, Pandith has been a key figure in American counterterrorism efforts since the George H.W. Bush administration. Drawing on her extensive experience and hundreds of interviews, she shows that despite our intensified post-9/11 fight against extremists, groups like ISIS are better able to spread their ideas, recruit members, and launch strikes than ever before. Only a paradigm shift will truly counter these organizations, Pandith believes, and she argues for an approach that will mobilize the expertise and resources of diplomats, corporate leaders, social scientists, mental health experts, and, most importantly, the global youth who are most vulnerable to extremist messages.

Pandith will be in conversation with Dr. Anne-Marie Slaughter, contributing editor to the Financial Times and CEO of New America, a think and action tank dedicated to renewing America in the Digital Age.
