Diane Rehm - On My Own

Tuesday, April 5, 2016 - 7:00pm to 8:00pm

As the host of WAMU’s The Diane Rehm Show since 1979, Rehm needs little introduction—either in D.C. or within earshot of the sixty radio stations that now carry the program. Readers have also been able to follow Rehm’s career and personal life in her memoirs, Finding My Voice, Life with Maxie and, with her husband, Toward Commitment. Her new book looks at the end of her fifty-four-year marriage, recounting John’s death from Parkinson’s and how this led her to become an advocate of the “right to die” movement.

Rehm will be in conversation with Deborah Tannen, a professor of linguistics at Georgetown University and the author of books including You Just Don’t Understand and The Argument Culture.
