David J. Linden - Think Tank: Forty Neuroscientists Explore the Biological Roots of Human Experience — in conversation with Gül Dölen and John W. Krakauer — at Politics and Prose at The Wharf

Upcoming Event
Thursday, May 24, 2018 - 7:00pm to 8:00pm

Eager to let general readers learn about science directly from scientists, Linden, professor of neuroscience at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine and the author of books including The Accidental Mind, asked forty neuroscientists what aspect of brain function they would most like to explain to the world. Drawing on specialties ranging from molecular genetics to evolutionary biology, human behavior, and comparative anatomy, the contributors offer fascinating, accessible, and authoritative essays that shed light on the mysteries of thinking and creativity, trace the effects of drugs, illustrate how personality is formed, and outline how individual experiences can dramatically change the brain’s makeup. Linden will be in conversation with Gül Dölen and John W. Krakauer, contributors to the book and fellow faculty members at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine.
