David Downie - The Gardener of Eden — in conversation with Colleen Daly

Upcoming Event
Sunday, March 24, 2019 - 1:00pm to 2:00pm

Best known for his guides to and celebrations of the City of Light—A Passion for Paris, Paris to the Pyrenees, and A Taste of Paris—Downie is also an accomplished fiction writer. His third novel is a haunting story of ghosts and secrets set in the fading coastal town of Carverville. James, something of a prodigal son, returns to the town after forty years. Not exactly welcomed with open arms, he finds work at a dilapidated resort. Then he makes a grisly discovery, one that forces him to confront his past and endangers his future, leaving him open to the full brunt of the town’s festering suspicions and conspiracy theories. Downie will be in conversation with Colleen Daly, an editor and writing coach who has run a library and worked at the American Academy in Rome.
