Dan Schilling - Alone at Dawn: Medal of Honor Recipient John Chapman and the Untold Story of the World's Deadliest Special Operations Force — in conversation with Robert Kadlec — at Politics and Prose at The Wharf

Upcoming Event
Thursday, July 11, 2019 - 7:00pm to 8:00pm

The first airman in nearly fifty years to be awarded the Medal of Honor, John Chapman was mortally wounded when he led a contingent of Navy SEALs on a rescue mission in Afghanistan in 2002; despite his injuries, as the enemy closed in he saved his colleagues as well as an incoming rescue team. Drawing on firsthand accounts with the mission’s survivors, classified documents, and videos, Schilling, himself a thirty-year special operations and Combat Control veteran, gives a riveting look at an elite force whose inner workings the public knows knows little about. Schilling will be in conversation with Robert Kadlec, Assistant Secretary of Health and Human Services.
