Dan Kois - How to Be a Family: The Year I Dragged My Kids Around the World to Find a New Way to Be Together — in conversation with Hanna Rosin

Upcoming Event
Friday, September 20, 2019 - 7:00pm to 8:00pm

To break the grip of the busy, distracted life he and his wife were living as East Coast professionals and the parents of two daughters, Kois did something radical: he took his family on a year-long trip around the world. In this account of their travels to New Zealand, the Netherlands, Costa Rica, and small-town Kansas, Kois, Slate editor and founding host of the podcast “Mom and Dad Are Fighting,” looks at how families live in different places, sifting the options for ways that could help his own family thrive as an integral unit rather than as a group of individuals each pursing happiness in a separate way. Kois will be in conversation with Hanna Rosin, a co-host of NPR’s Invisibilia.
