Dambisa Moyo - Edge of Chaos: Why Democracy Is Failing to Deliver Economic Growth--And How to Fix It

Upcoming Event
Saturday, May 12, 2018 - 3:30pm to 4:30pm

While for many decades liberal democracy has proven itself a reliable engine of growth, today it is failing. Moyo, one of today’s leading economists, argues that unless democracy can stop the growing inequality and jump-start stagnant wages, it risks falling apart in the surge of anger and frustration that has brought populist governments and extreme movements into power. Moyo, author of Winner Take All and Dead Aid, follows her astute analysis of today’s economic disorder with specific proposals for reforming governments, such as requiring office holders to have real-world work experience.
