President Clinton Coming To P&P To Sign New Book

Politics and Prose is delighted to announce that President Bill Clinton will be at the store from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. on Friday, December 2, to sign copies of his new book, Back to Work. Given the large number of people expected to attend, the following procedures have been set to ensure an enjoyable, safe and smooth event for all:

  • This is a ticketed event and a book-signing only. All those attending must purchase a voucher at Politics and Prose. The voucher is necessary to receive a book and enter the signing line. Books will be handed out in the signing line.
  • Vouchers will go on sale at noon on Wednesday, November 30, and can be purchased only in the store. They will remain on sale as long as the supply lasts. Due to the intense interest in this event, we regret that we cannot accept orders over the phone or on line. There will be a limit of one voucher per person. You must attend the event to have a book signed.
  • You will need to show your voucher upon entering the signing line, so please do not lose it. Politics and Prose is not responsible for lost or stolen vouchers.
  • All bags and other personal items, including phones, cameras and electronic devices, must be left at the bag-check table before entering the store. We recommend that you bring as few items as possible, since they will all need to be checked.
  • President Clinton will sign one book per person. He will not have time to add personal messages or sign copies of his previous books or other items. If you have already purchased the book from Politics and Prose, you still may obtain a voucher. Please message Mike at for instructions.

Please arrive early to get in line and allow time to check your bag. The line will form outside – dress accordingly – and will be on a first-come, first-served basis. The number on your voucher will not have bearing on your place in line.

We realize this event coincides with the first day of our Holiday Member Sale, so the store will be even busier during the hours when President Clinton is signing. The store will be open regular hours, from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. The great majority of our inventory will remain accessible to shoppers during the event, and extra staff will be on hand to assist those not attending the signing. The Member Sale will continue throughout the weekend. On Saturday, the store will be open from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m., and on Sunday from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.
