Bethanne Patrick and contributors - The Books That Changed My Life

Saturday, April 2, 2016 - 6:00pm to 7:00pm

“Reading…can be education or entertainment, solace or spark,” editor Bethanne Patrick notes; but can it actually change a life? In this inspiring and heartfelt collection of essays, Patrick, author of An Uncommon History of Common Things, contributing editor at Literary Hub, and creator of the #FridayReads hashtag, has gathered testimonials to the transformative power of reading from one hundred of today’s top writers, musicians, actors, politicians, and CEOs. Join Patrick, historical novelist Louis Bayard, and other contributors to discuss favorite books and the difference they have made.

A portion of the proceeds from sales of this anthology will be donated to 826National, a nonprofit organization devoted to helping students age six to eighteen write; started in San Francisco in 2002, it now operates in seven cities, including D.C.
