Angela Stent - Putin's World: Russia Against the West and with the Rest — in conversation with Susan Glasser

Upcoming Event
Thursday, February 28, 2019 - 7:00pm to 8:00pm

Decades after the Cold War, Russia has regained a position of power and is once again challenging the U.S. on the global stage and even within America’s own domestic politics. In this incisive analysis, Stent, former national intelligence officer for Russia and Eurasia at the National Intelligence Council and now director of Georgetown’s Center for Eurasian, Russian and East European Studies, traces the last twenty years of Russia’s relations with nations including the U.S., Ukraine, and China to show how and why this has come about. Drawing on her extensive experience in the field, Stent shows that despite at least four “resets” under different administrations, all with mixed results, our relationship with Russia will remain a limited partnership until both sides can break out of the old habits of Cold War thinking.

Stent will be in conversation with Susan B. Glasser, staff writer at The New Yorker.
