Alice Robb - Why We Dream: The Transformative Power of Our Nightly Journey — in conversation with Alex Stone — at Politics and Prose at Union Market

Upcoming Event
Tuesday, November 27, 2018 - 7:00pm to 8:00pm

Dreams have intrigued and mystified people for centuries. As science is now proving, they’ve also helped us learn, promoted the healing of psychic trauma, and aided creativity. We can’t live without them any more than we can live without sleep. In this fascinating exploration of dreaming, Robb, who writes a column for New York Magazine's "Science of Us," gives us a guided tour through recent dream research with an extended foray into her own experiences with lucid dreaming, which occurs when a sleeper is able to be conscious that he or she is dreaming and even actively direct the dream.

Robb will be in conversation with Alex Stone, an ex-physicist whose work has appeared in The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, The Washington Post, The New Republic, and Discover magazine.
