Shakespeare Behind the Scenes (2053) POSTPONED

Wednesday, March 18, from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. Please note: Class is postponed and new dates TK.

Price:
$50.00 (10% off for members)

This class, with actress Kate Eastwood Norris, offered in partnership with Folger Theatre, will give students a backstage pass into Shakespeare’s plays and the inner workings of an art form that we often elevate right out of our grasp. Using Shakespeare’s plays as maps for performance rather than considering them as strictly literature, more than themes and characters will be uncovered. Through discussion, anecdotes, information and a taste (or two) of on-your-feet script exploration, you will gain a recognition of details vital to the performer, audience member, or reader. This coursework will ignite your imagination and deepen your theatergoing experience at years to come. One Wednesday, March 18, from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. Please note: Class is postponed and new dates TK.

Kate Eastwood Norris is a multiple Helen Hayes Award winner and has performed and taught Shakespeare (more than any other playwright) in her 25-year career. She also received an MFA in Shakespeare and Performance from Mary Baldwin University and considers her greatest goal, other than to act with Maggie Smith, to be to blow the minds of a class full of Intro to Shakespeare students who are required to attend.

REFUND POLICY: Please note that we can issue class refunds up until seven (7) days before the first class session.
