P&P Salon: Aging - An Octogenarian's Journal

Thursday, February 15 from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. ET at the Den Coffeehouse

Price:
$25.00 Per Person

What is life like for active octogenarians? About 1.3 million Americans turned 80 last year. President Biden, musician Paul McCartney, singer Barbra Streisand, actor Harrison Ford, journalist Lesley Stahl, civil rights activist and journalist Charlayne Hunter-Gault, and Senate minority leader Mitch McConnell were among the many others who also reached that age last year and -- like Len Downie, our Salon speaker -- were still busily working. For Downie, that, plus his relationship with his wife, offset his share of aches, pains, balance problems, and memory issues that accompany older age, as he has written in "80 -- An Octogenarian's Journal -- A Daunting Yet Rewarding New Time in Life." Downie will be in conversation with Pooh Shapiro, who edited a selection of Downie's journal entries for The Washington Post, will talk with Len about aging well.

Thursday, February 15 from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. ET at the Den Coffeehouse

There will be a complementary beverage (glass of wine, beer, or coffee) during the event as well.
