Lecture and Discussion. This live class will be recorded and available for later viewing.

This class will explore the many interpretations of this beloved classic, mostly - though not exclusively - focused on its insights into the female experience. We will read the text through the eyes of Jean Rhys, Virginia Woolf and Adrienne Rich and of course our own. We will also identify - and play with – writerly techniques within the novel that jive/align with contemporary auto-fiction. The classes will consist primarily of presentation and discussion; in addition, a handful of writing prompts will be given in class, which you can develop at home if you wish to.

Three Saturdays: February 17, 24 and March 2 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. ET Online
