Five hundred newspapers across the country want your opinion and will pay for it. This two-session lecture and in-class workshop (on gun control OP EDs as an example) offers professional feedback for your success. Taught by an OP ED editor, you’ll learn the proper structure of an OP ED, how to persuasively make your point and take down opposing arguments (politely); what editors look for and what red flags to avoid. You’ll learn where to find key facts, how to fit your view to the right newspaper, and the format in which to submit an OP ED. Winslow has taught this course to State Department officials and to PR firms.

Two Tuesdays: August 2 and 9, from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. EDT Online
