Want to make your opinion persuade other people? Fully 500 newspapers across this country want to know what you think. In this four-session course, you’ll learn from an OP ED editor what editors look for when they select OP EDs, guest essays, and Letters to the Editor (LTE). You’ll learn how to make your submission float to the top of a huge pile by what you put in the subject line of an email; how to craft the all-important first paragraph; what sources editors trust, and don’t; how to tighten words to keep to maximum length; and what specific words to avoid that turn an editor off.  You’ll have a chance to write a LTE for feedback; learn the best strategy for submission, and what’s in a publication contract.
