From Novice to Novelist – Crash Course (1857)

Saturday, May 12, 10 a.m.–5 p.m.

$100 (10% off for members)

This workshop offers guidance in deconstructing and demystifying the novel-writing process for struggling and/or aspiring writers. We'll start by fostering new ideas and work all the way through to the process of getting your novel into the hands of expectant fans. Along the way, participants will learn various facets of novel writing, including how to stay organized and how to write in different voices. The class will also discuss revision techniques and will include advice on finding an agent, marketing one’s work, and facing writing and marketing fears. By the end of the day-long session, participants will be prepared to begin work on a novel and will be equipped with the skills to perfect it. The workshop will include some writing exercises.
