Let’s gorge on “Gingerbread” -- one of the most buzzed-about and delicious novels of 2019. Oyeyemi concocts stylistically dazzling, unclassifiable stories that spin off of classic fairy tales.  Like her previous award-winning books this latest one is a strange and addictive combination of fantasy, magic, comedy, social commentary, empathy, nutmeg and so much more.  The New York Times calls it “exhilarating” and  “a novel that feels prescient, and it deserves to be read carefully, considered and discussed.”  And that’s exactly what we’ll do. Wednesday, May 22, 6-8 p.m.
