Chile: Top to (Almost) Bottom (Paperback)
In the summer of 1999, the author flew from Austin, Texas to Santiago Chile with his wife and seven-year-old son to begin a year as a visiting faculty member at a Chilean university. During that year, they had opportunities to travel the length of Chile, from the deserts and mountains in the far north near the border with Peru and Bolivia, to Easter Island in the far Pacific, and to the Straits of Magellan in the far south. This book describes those travels and the adventure of living in a foreign country for a year.
