I'll Be Ok, It's Just a Hole in My Head: A Memoir on Heartbreak and Head Trauma (Paperback)
Don't Worry, I Have a Hole in My Head: A Memoir on Heartache and Head Injury is a humorous and thoughtful cross between Jill Bolte Taylor's My Stoke of Insight and Jenny Lawson's Furiously Happy. Shocking and funny, Hayes' memoir shares the true story of a sudden brain hemorrhage at the age of twenty-two - and the heartache and strength that it took to overcome it.
Mimi Hayes is an American writer and comedian living in New York City. A former high school teacher and brain injury survivor, Hayes wrote her first humorous memoir, while recovering from a traumatic head injury at the age of 22. Her unique and honest take on trauma and love followed her to the stage as a stand up comedian and improvisor where she has performed on stages such as Denver Comedy Works, Broadway Comedy Club, and The Upright Citizen's Brigade. She was recently highlighted by Mongul in New York City Comedians To Look Out For in 2018 and made her mark in the Denver comedy scene in the Comedy Works New Faces Contest in 2017. She is a frequent player in MTV's Sean Lynch's Lovecraft Comedy Cult monthly showcase.
