Politics & Prose Members receive the same discounts online that they would when shopping in the store, including 20% discounts during our storewide member sales and the benefits of our Member Rewards program—for every 20 merchandise items you purchase at P&P* you get 10% back in store credit! If your 20th item is purchased online you receive a code towards online use, if the 20th purchase happens in store you receive a physical coupon to use the next time you visit.

We accept Visa, Mastercard, Discover, American Express, and Politics & Prose Gift Cards for online payments. We guarantee that every transaction you make with us is absolutely safe. We do not share customer information. Once we receive your credit card information, it is NOT accessible from the Internet.
Politics & Prose uses Authorize.Net, a leading payment gateway since 1996, which provides the latest technology to keep your credit card information safely encrypted on a secure server; and we are registered with the Authorize.Net Verified Merchant Seal program. The Authorize.Net Payment Gateway adheres to strict industry standards for payment processing, including:

You may choose to pick up your purchases at the store to avoid shipping charges; or have them shipped to your home or business. Shipped orders typically arrive within 1-3 business days. Our online ordering department will email you to confirm receipt of your order and inform you when your purchase is completed and your shipment is on its way.
If you have any special handling needs, let us know in the comments field. We are happy to enclose a message and gift wrap for free! We always pack books very carefully in sturdy boxes.
For our local customers, shipping saves you the step of coming into the store or hauling gifts to the post office. For our national and international fans, we provide a distinctive selection and the assurance of signed books from our top-of-the-line author events.

Unless requested, we are only using FedEx (Ground and Home) for large shipments, usually more than 4 large hardcover or 5 - 6 standard paperbacks. $8.75 and 75¢ for each additional book
When appropriate for cost or speed of delivery, books may be shipped directly from a supplier's warehouse via UPS.
Because our computers are not linked with FedEx, UPS, or USPS databases the estimates are inaccurate and must be adjusted, usually in your favor. In the rare event, that a shipment requires extra postage, we will notify you for approval. If you require expedited shipping such as overnight delivery, please indicate this in the comments box. Note that, depending on the size and weight of the order, surcharges for expedited service could become substantial. Our return policy is simple, similar to returns at our store. Please note that we can process returns and refunds only for items purchased from us. You may return or exchange any book in its original condition - or any unopened music CD - within 30 days of receiving of your order. With your dated receipt, you may choose to receive a refund in the form of original payment. Without a receipt, a return may be approved for store credit or exchange on items in new condition which we can clearly determine that we have sold in the last 30 days. Special orders for items that not usually carried and costing $50 or more may not be returned. Returns are subject to management discretion.

PLEASE BE ADVISED: The displayed in-store availability is maintained as accurately as possible. Inventory changes are uploaded every 24 hours. They do NOT happen in real time. Below is a brief explanation of our terminology:
"On Our Shelves Now" - The item was on the store shelves and in our inventory the last time inventory was uploaded to the online system. Please call us to confirm before relying on this information.
"Not in the store—Ships in 1-5 Days" - This item should be readily available to ship directly to you or to order for in store pickup. This also means that the item was NOT in the store during the last inventory upload.
"Coming Soon—Pre-Order Now" - We can pre-order this book for you. If you order it now, we will notify you - or ship it to you - when we receive our shipment from the publisher. We will let you know if there will be a delay in publication.
"Special Order—Subject to Availability" - This title may not be currently available from the publisher. This status is displayed for older titles that may not be in print, or are in between print runs; it is also displayed for new titles that will not be released for a month or more. We will attempt to order the book for you and notify you of your order status.
"Out of Print" - Politics & Prose cannot obtain this book. You can continue to support the store by searching Biblio.com, a used book consolidator.
Some Special Order titles are non-returnable and require pre-payment. We will let you know if these terms apply.
