Marita Golden - The Wide Circumference of Love
Golden has written more than a dozen works of fiction and nonfiction; her many honors include the Authors Guild Award for Distinguished Service to the Literary Community and the Maryland Author Award from the Association of Maryland Librarians. Golden is also the co-founder and president emeritus of the Hurston/Wright foundation. Her new novel continues her lifelong focus on strong women and the rich experiences of African American families, chronicling the Tates’ struggle with early-onset dementia. As the adult children find new ways to connect with a father they only partly know, his wife, a family court judge, faces a shock even greater than the illness itself when her husband falls in love with another resident of his assisted living facility.
